Certainly, from the point of view of 99.9% of those concerned, Linux is a cheap alternative to commercial unix with comparable quality and support. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 19 Jan 2008 12:21:42 +0000 (UTC) From: helbig@astro.multiCLOTHESvax.de (Phillip Helbig---remove CLOTHES to reply) Subject: Re: CC in VMSmail Message-ID: In article , Fred Bach writes: > Phillip Helbig---remove CLOTHES to reply wrote: > > In article <478E7114.60406@triumf.ca>, Fred Bach > > writes: > > > >> Peter 'EPLAN' LANGSTOeGER wrote: > >>> I'd like to ask what people (means you) usually do to get a CC address > >>> into a mail send by a (batch) procedure. > > > >> What I do is BCC everything with my "Mail_Individually.com" DCL > >> command procedure. CC exists interactively in VMS mail, but not as a qualifier for, say, mailing a file from the command line. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 19 Jan 2008 12:54:13 GMT From: VAXman- @SendSpamHere.ORG Subject: Re: How do I map an HP VMS keyboard within Apple X11 on Leopard? Could someone do a SHOW SERV RSH/FULL on their working node to see what is missing from my config ? If I try to manually configure the service, it wants a username, a process name and a file. The TCPIP$CONFIG procedure is happy as a puppy and doesn't complain about anything when it creates the service. (the username TCPIP$RSH exists). ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 19 Jan 2008 13:43:10 +0000 From: "R.A.Omond" Subject: Re: RSH service problem Message-ID: JF Mezei wrote: >>$ tcpip >>TCPIP> show version >> >> HP TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Alpha Version V5.6 >> on an AlphaServer DS10L 466 MHz running OpenVMS V8.3 >> >>TCPIP> show serv rsh/full >> >>Service: RSH >> State: Disabled >>Port: 514 Protocol: TCP,UDP Address: 0.0.0.0 >> User_name: not defined Process: TCPIP$RSH >>TCPIP> enable service rsh >>%TCPIP-E-STARTERROR, error starting RSH service >>-TCPIP-E-BADVALUE, value Service User_name is incorrect >>-RMS-E-RNF, record not found >>%TCPIP-E-STARTERROR, error starting RSH service >>-RMS-E-RNF, record not found >>%TCPIP-E-STARTERROR, error starting RSH service >>-TCPIP-E-BADVALUE, value Service User_name is incorrect >>-RMS-E-RNF, record not found >>%TCPIP-E-STARTERROR, error starting RSH service >>-RMS-E-RNF, record not found > > > > I've deleted the service, and used TCPIP$CONFIG to recreate it, but to > no avail. > > Could someone do a SHOW SERV RSH/FULL on their working node to see what > is missing from my config ? Actually I think the number of on-topic posts are the same as always. Less off-topic posts. But who the "%&¤!%¤"!%"! miss those ?
