Re-install windows from CD and reboot. :-) Are you able to boot from the machine's onw system disk ? My guess would be come sysgen parameters that would be insufficient/incompatible with the hardware (aka: memory etc). I may have a working VAXstation 3100 Model 76 or two lying around.
 
I have a hobbyist cluster of Alphas so I haven't used these in some time.
 
I'm in the process of moving so I'll have to get unpacked before I can fire it up and say for sure.
