The next note contains the update to OneKey Noting that should work properly with the Notes upgrade that will be done this weekend. This procedure is posted by permission of XCOM. THIS VERSION IS FOR NOTES V2.x - it will NOT work properly with Notes V1.x INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETUP: 1. Extract the note to a file: Notes> EXTRACT/NOHEADER SYS$LOGIN:NOTES$COMMAND.TPU 2. (Advisable) Edit your LOGIN.COM file to add: $ DEFINE NOTES$COMMAND SYS$LOGIN:NOTES$COMMAND.TPU SIMPLIFIED OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS: 1. After you have entered Notes, a notebook update will take place. From that point, all you have to do is press the ENTER key to read the next note you have not seen. 2. When you see the message- 'No more unseen conferences... Do you want to update all conferences? [Y]' Type Y (or just ENTER) to perform the update; Type N to _not_ perform the update; Type X or E to exit Notes and return to DCL. 3. Added key definitions are at the bottom of this note. All of the "standard" Notes and EVE definitions are still present. TAILORING, IF DESIRED: Please take a look at the LAST few lines (beginning where it says TAILOR THE FOLLOWING). It is relatively easy to control which Notebook Class is being updated, by a change to one statement. By default, OneKey updates all Notebook Classes. Other examples are provided in the code. The code to extract all unseen notes has been incorporated. The notes can be extracted either to TT: (for use with 'log file capture') or to a file you can specify. All you need to tailor these features is included. Of course, by default, the extract capability is turned off. DECUSERVE-SPECIFIC TITLE SEARCH FACILITY: At the Notes> prompt, pressing KP6 will load the list of DECUServe Topic Titles, and allow you to use EVE to search for specific words. Pressing KP6 will load the list of ALL Note Titles. When the cursor is positioned on a title line, pressing KP7 will take you back to Notes, and display the note selected. If the title list is displayed, and you just want to return to the note you were last reading, press the F10 (EXIT) key (or ^Z).
