This directory contains some files I've developed to work with the LN03 printer (and some LA100 and terminal stuff). Specifically, there are files to set the LN03 to different orientations (Landscape or Portrait) and different text sizes (10, 12 and 13.6 characters per inch). In addition, I developed a form and scripts so that ALL-IN-1 V2.0 users can set the printer as AI1 does not (at this time) recognize the LN03 as a valid device. There is also a script and command file so AI1 can print to a device on a terminal printer port without placing garbage at the beginning and end of the document, particularly with non-DEC printers. There is also an article on the ALL-IN-1 TXL and a serious WPS problem. 10LINE.LA100 and 19LINE.LA100 set an LA100 for forms 10 and 19 lines high (for mailing labels). Our LA100 doesn't have a keyboard so sending a file is the only way to do it, plus it allows ALL-IN-1 to do it as well. AI1PORT.DOC (and .RNO) contains three articles: the first describes how I got ALL-IN-1 to print to a terminal printer port without spurious characters (with some help from DEC). The second is a quick description of how to really remove and compile a TXL while ALL-IN-1 is running. The third describes what I believe to be a very serious problem with the way WPS outputs text to terminals and files (with or without AI1). They should also appear soon in the OA section of the combined newsletter. CLEAR.SCREEN clears and resets VT100 and VT200 family terminals. LANDSCAPE.100, LANDSCAPE.120, and LANDSCAPE.132 set an LN03 for printing long side horizontally with the given number of columns. LN03.TXT is a sample file: print it on an LN03 and you will see all of the built in fixed pitch sizes and alphabets. It can also be printed on other DEC devices to see what character sets are available (for example, if the technical or other optional character set has been downloaded into a VT200 family terminal). PORTRAIT.80, PORTRAIT.96 and PORTRAIT.108 set the LN03 for printing long side vertically with the given number of characters. PORTRAIT.80 is the equivalent of the default setting. PORT_CANNON.COM is used with PRINT_C.SCP so that ALL-IN-1 can print to a terminal printer port without adding a lot of extra garbage characters. PRINT10L.SCP, PRINT19L.SCP, PRINTL132.SCP, PRINTP108.SCP, PRINTP80.SCP, PRINTP96.SCP, and PRINTRESET.SCP are used so ALL-IN-1 can change the LN03 characteristics. PRINTER.FRM is added to ALL-IN-1 to allow users to set printer characteristics. A description of the form is in PRINTER.FLG SETPRINT.DOC (and .RNO) describes how the above form looks to an AI1 user and how many columns and lines are on each form. RESET.PRINTER resets an LN03 to it's power-up settings in case one of the other commands goofs. Bart Z. Lederman 2572 E. 22nd St. Brooklyn, NY 11235-2504
