TPU SECTION FILE This section file will only support a vt200 series terminal setup as a vt200 terminal. 1. Do a $SHOW TERMINAL. The device type must be a VT200 series terminal. 2. Go into setup on the terminal and make sure it is in VT200 mode, 7 bits control. If you are not set up this way the editor will not work correctly with this section file. You can tell when it is not set up right when you can press the PF4 key and have it ask for a command instead of deleting a line like it is supposed to. Also you can tell when the application keypad is not defined. To setup a symbol to use this section file enter: EDE :== EDIT/TPU/SECTION=SYS$LOGIN:NAT.GBL Then copy NAT.GBL into you home directory. I am providing the net.hlp file here for reference as I describe some of the more non-obvious commands. This means that when you use the "other buffer" key it will toggle between this buffer and another buffer. As an example, if you have pulled in two other files with the "get file" key, your current buffer will be the last file you pulled in. If you press the "other buffer" several times you will see that your current buffer switches between the first buffer and the third buffer. If you press the "prev buffer" key while you are in the third buffer, you will go to the second buffer. If you press the "shift" key and then the "F17" key, you will make the second buffer the master buffer. When you use the "other buffer" key you will now toggle between the second buffer and another buffer. SHIFT/F19 SHIFT/F20 - NEXT BUFFER and PREVIOUS BUFFER, once you have created several buffers, you can switch between them by using these keys and the "other buffer" key. ENTER KEY - OTHER BUFFER, this will switch you between the master buffer and the last buffer you were in which wasn't the master buffer. You can change which buffer you toggle with the master buffer by going to the buffer you want with the "prev buffer" or "next buffer" keys. KP6 - CREATE A MARK is described in the TPU documentation KP4 - GOTO A MARK is described in the TPU documentation EOL - GO TO END OF LINE is described in the TPU documentation PF2 - OTHER WINDOW, this will switch you between windows when you are in the split screen mode SHIFT/PF2 - CREATE TWO WINDOWS, this will create a split screen with two windows. SHIFT/PF1 - CREATE ONE WINDOW, this will take you from split screen mode back to full screen mode. KP9 - SAVE A LINE, will save one line without deleting it for quick duplication of a line. KP8 - INSERT A LINE, will insert the line saved by "save lin" key. SHIFT/DO - QUIT, will exit form the editor without saving any changes. The above decriptions cover the more non-obvious or confusing keys. If you want to redefine keys or change the source you will need to create a new section .GBL file. The following is an example of how to recreate the nat.gbl file. 1. $EDIT/TPU NAT.TPU 2. Press DO key and enter at the Command: EXTEND TPU * 3. Press DO key and enter at the Command: TPU NAT_KEYS 4. Press DO key and enter at the Command: SAVE EXTENDED TPU SYS$LOGIN:NAT.GBL 5. QUIT from the editor.
