Ronald Kaltenbaugh SYSCON Corp. [.RWK_F87.MISC] This directory contains various command procedures for use by System Managers and users in general. The following list briefly describes these command files. For more information check the command files themselves. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The files and how they are used. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AAAREADME.1ST The file you are reading. COMMENTS.COM Counts the number of comments in a command procedure. Not very fast. COMPRESS.COM Removes comments and white space from a command procedure. DIR_TREE.COM Display the a directory tree with information about number of files and total blocks. DIR_TREE.LOG A sample run of DIR_TREE.COM FRAG_TEST.COM For those of you without SPM, this command file can be used to determine how fragmented the free space of a disk is. This procedure must be used when nothing is using the disk to be tested. This procedure executes in from 5 to 20 minutes. FRAG_TEST.LOG A sample run of FRAG_TEST.COM. PRINTER_PORT.COM Used for printing files on a slave LA50 or LA75. SET_PRINTER.COM Used for setting defaults for a slave LA50 or LA75. These defaults are set on the printer and with logicals that are used by PRINTER_PORT.COM. STAND_ALONE.COM This procedure is designed to be executed on the system console before stand alone backup. Various chores are completed, such as initializing tapes, showing the status of the system, etc. Must be executed from the SYSTEM account and OPA0:. NOTE: For this procedure to call SYSTEM_STATUS.COM they must reside in the same directory. SYSTEM_MONITOR.COM This command file can be used either interactively or in batch to detach a Monitor recording session. A monitor summary report is generated and mail is sent to the person who detached the session on completion. SYSTEM_STATUS.COM This procedure shows the status of your system. More than just a few SHOW commands are executed!
