Some places you might want to look would be: 1) At the tn3270 sources that are in the public domain. I'm pretty sure you can find them on some system at Berkeley. 2> You can probably find lpr/lpd sources there as well. 3> There are a couple books that are pretty worth while. They are: Unix Network Programming - W. Richard Stevens Prentice Hall Software Series $41 If you are planning on writing TCP/IP code, this book is a must. It actually has examples! Don't leave your node without it. Internetworking with TCP/IP, Volume I - Douglas E. Comer Prentice Hall Software Series $46.50 This volume covers the architecture of TCP/IP, along with history, protocol details and an introduction to SNMP. Volume II is to cover implementation details and internals. As far as I know it isn't out yet. (This is from a Unix book list I maintain.)
