Summary of TLZ04 4 mm DAT - MicroVAX 3100 Information.

	To use a DEC TLZ04 4 mm DAT drive with a MicroVAX 3100 the systems
	needs to be running firmware version 1.6 or greater.  After great
	pains local field service was able to supply me with to EPROMs for
	the software upgrade.

		DEC PN 	23-137E8-00 
			23-136E8-00

	The date on the software is 11-FEB-1991 so its some very new stuff !!

	There is also a VMS patch for VAX/VMS 5.3-2 and 5.4 that will correct
	a problem with multi-volume backups.  The patch from CSC is patch 
	number 213 for the PKDRIVER.EXE.

	For ULTRIX V 4.1 it is the RDAT patch

	I have the TLZ04 running on my 3100 with VAX/VMS V 5.3-1 and it
	works great.  I have not tried to do a multi-volume backup.

	PS. To find out what version of firmware your 3100 has: 

		At the >>> prompt run test 50
