DX (Directory eXtension) V2.3 -- A file and directory manager Author: Chau-Kuang Hung (chung@us.oracle.com) Oracle Corporation 300 Oracle Parkway BOX 659304 Redwood Shores, CA 94065 Kit: DX.MFTU - MFTU'ed compressed saveset To unpack the DX saveset, you'll need the FILESERV_TOOLS package available from FILESERV@WKUVX1.BITNET. To retrieve the package, send the following command in the body of a mail message to FILESERV@WKUVX1.BITNET: SEND FILESERV_TOOLS Once the FILESERV_TOOLS have been unpacked, you'll need to assemble and link DEHEXIFY, then dehexify the MFTU.HEX and LZDCMP.HEX files. The file BUILD.COM that comes with FILESERV_TOOLS can be used to perform these steps: $ @BUILD Assembling DEHEXIFY.... Linking DEHEXIFY.... DEHEXIFYing MFTU.EXE.... mftu.exe DEHEXIFYing LZDCMP.EXE.... lzdcmp.exe $ Run MFTU.EXE to decode the DX.MFTU file: $ RUN MFTU MFTU> DECODE DX.MFTU Decoded DUB5:[HUNTER.DX]DX.BCK_Z;1, 1009 blocks. $ (You can get the sources for MFTU by sending the command SEND MFTU in the *body* of a mail message to FILESERV@WKUVX1.BITNET.) Now use LZDCMP to decompress the three save_sets: $ LZDCMP :== $dev:[dir]LZDCMP.EXE $ LZDCMP DX.BCK_Z You're now ready to unpack the saveset: $ backup/log dx.bck/save [.dx]*.*; Hunter Goatley, VMS Systems Programmer, Western Kentucky University goathunter@WKUVX1.BITNET, 502-745-5251
