This is the Computer Center in University of Udine - North East Italy.
Also known as "CCUU".

Host is an AlphaServer 2100 running "OpenVMS AXP" o.s.
TCP/IP software is: MULTINET (TGV).
Internet host address is: hydrus.cc.uniud.it (158.110.1.2)
DECnet address (Italian GARR DECnet Network) is: HYDRUS (37.88)

There's currently no time restriction or user limit for anonymous FTP from
this host. Connection will abort after 300 seconds of idle time.

NOTE:  you'll  navigate  through a OpenVMS file system structure. Take note
that:

- Directory  files  are  marked  with a ".DIR" extension: i.e. VMS.DIR is a
  directory named "VMS". 

  YOU  SHOULD  OMIT  THE  ".DIR;*"  STRING  when  you  change  the  working
  directory;  for  example,  if  you  want  to  change  current  dir.  into
  "TOOLS.DIR;1", you should use:

    FTP.CC.UNIUD.IT> CD TOOLS  

  You can also use the OpenVMS syntax:

    FTP.CC.UNIUD.IT> CD [.TOOLS]

  To come back to upper levels, you can use:

    FTP.CC.UNIUD.IT> CD ..

  as well as the OpenVMS'

    FTP.CC.UNIUD.IT> CD [-]
     

- Files   with   a   ".EXE"   extension  (i.e.:  "UNZIP.EXE")  are  usually
  "OpenVMS AXP"  executable  images  (you will not be able to execute  them 
  with operating systems  other  than OpenVMS with a AXP processor - Alpha, 
  not VAX!)


Software mantained here is usually compressed in ZIP format (NOT GZIP). You
need UNZIP running on your site to uncompress *.ZIP files. 

"UNZIP.EXE" is now available in  this directory as a OpenVMS AXP executable
code.
